Another col­lage artist today! I’ve really been inter­ested in look­ing at abstract col­lages, and Kelly Lynn Jones has work that I’ve been fol­low­ing for awhile.

I spend a lot of time with Kelly’s paint­ing on paper, but she also has some very nice sculp­ture and instal­la­tion work. Like Anthony Zinonos, she has a min­i­mal­ist approach to her work. I really enjoy the jux­ta­po­si­tion that she’s seemed to give to her pieces. Each col­lage is so detailed and rather insu­lar — like you could hold it in the palm of your hand. They do, how­ever, seem to be ref­er­enc­ing some­thing so much larger and vast, such as the for­est, or the ocean.

In addi­tion to her won­der­ful work, Kelly also helps run Lit­tle Paper Planes. It’s a great online shop and worth check­ing out!
