I am a huge sucker for toys — plush, vinyl, wood — I am con­stantly expand­ing my col­lec­tion. While perus­ing My Love for You is a Stam­pede of Horses, I came across Herzen­sart (San­dra Monat) and was instantly attracted to her work.

I love the plush char­ac­ters she’s cre­ated and the use of mix­ing mate­ri­als and fab­rics. Work like hers is what helps plush to go beyond just a stuffed animal.

In addi­tion to plush, San­dra uses col­lage tech­niques and expands her vikings to plates, stamps, and post­cards. Her style is very well-informed and makes for great, fun products.
