I am a fan of Gerard Armengol and his drawings, that are strong enough to stand alone but also compliment the design it often accompanies.

The drawings produced by the Spanish-based illustrator are bordering on the naive style of drawing, but I don’t think that is giving them as much credit as they deserve. His works produced for poster design are eye-catching and a bit odd, causing the viewer to not only read the text of the poster, but to stop and take in Gerard’s work as well. Other pieces in his portfolio tend to be fairly diverse. He employs photography in his collages, as well as some sculptures that have been used in illustration. I prefer his drawings to all of this, as Gerard’s hand with his unique style of shading is something I don’t often see.
