The simplicity and beauty in Nathalie Chikhi’s work is noticed instantly. Her knack for arrangement and organization of color and form are obvious strengths in her minimalist wall hangings, collage, and sculpture.

I appreciate Nathalie’s use of non-precious materials in her work. She uses Popsicle sticks to create small scale assemblages. In paper collages, she utlizies brown paper (hello!) and other basic construction paper. Nathalie also extends this idea to sculptures, using polyester balls and straight pins. With these materials, she appropriates them into pieces that are thoughtful and works of art. It’s a nice juxtaposition.
