Molly Bosley is an artist after my own heart. Her body of work includes embroidery, collages, and even dioramas — a few of my favorite things right now. With their color and execution, I find her collages to be my favorite part of her portfolio.
Molly’s has titled her 2010 body of work “The Nature of Things”, which she has written a bit about it:
The Nature of Things depicts imaginary landscapes inhabited by figures from discordant imagery. Each scene is sourced from entirely different origins, yet the characters within are gathered as familiars. This collection of artwork explores a fascination with the unawareness, unfamiliarity, unsophistication, and unworldliness of innocence in contrast with the inevitable impurity ingrained in human nature. The combination of different techniques and materials emphasize the contrasts which exist in these scenes. Much like reflections of our living world, these things come together and create a chaotic balance.
I think that Molly has achieved this — the gathering not only is physical, but with ideas as well.
