Ezgi Pamir (previously) has recently created a denim jacket embroidery that’s a snapshot of contemporary pop culture. The large portrait adorns the back of the garment, and it features a woman wearing a floral crown with a bubble of one Instagram “Likes” next to her. As with Ezgi’s previous embroideries, she incorporates real objects—in this case, it’s a lovely selection of blooms.
With Coachaella just happening and the “festival season” upon us, adornments like these ethereal crowns are all the rage. They’re a big part of social media—the flower crown Snapchat filter has been around seemingly forever—and they’re shared, I imagine, because they add a fantastical-feeling beauty to the person wearing them. Ezgi’s creation captures this on the distressed garment, which itself is very en vogue.
Egzi Pamir created a denim jacket embroidery that has a 3D floral crown stitched within it. Coupled with a reference to Instagram, her illustration offers a snapshot of pop culture in 2017.
