Talita Hoffmann’s Dreamlike Paintings

It’s been awhile since I’ve shared the work of Talita Hoffmann on this blog. I’ve noticed a transition in her paintings over the years, especially in terms of color. Several years ago, she used saturated blues and pinks. Since then, she’s transitioned into hues that are more subdued. As always, her paintings are of a narrative persuasion; They are  jammed-packed with characters, environment, and ultimately, symbolism. Talita says that the flow of images comes almost unconsciously are very dreamlike, and often without limits. They cause discomfort while holding our attention — just like when we’re dreaming.
