Vancouver-based tattoo artist Katie Shocrylas fills the skin with colorful, illustrative designs. Using exquisite, thin lines and vibrant hues, her animal portraits and nature scenes contain an incredible amount energy. They remind me of the iconic images of Lisa Frank, whose similarly-psychedelic works were all over my school folders in elementary and middle school. Katie’s tattoos feel like a grown-up version of the illustrations that brought my younger self so much joy.
