Here, the stitches become part of the painting, adding a contemporary spin on the timeless craft of embroidery. “I work directly on the fabric, without preparing sketches beforehand,” Sabatina explained on her website. “The result is spontaneous explosion of patterns and colors.” But with this “blast” comes clarity: creating her embroideries allow Sabatina time to meditation and reflection.
