I have long been a fan of Ginette Lapalme’s work. She’s been cre­at­ing jew­el­ry, stick­ers, and but­tons for quite some time and sell­ing them through her Etsy.

Ginet­te’s work always made me feel this incred­i­ble sense of nos­tal­gia,  and for the longest time I could­n’t fig­ure out why. I knew it was some­thing with the eyes. Final­ly, I real­ized that the eyes she adorns her char­ac­ters are rem­i­nis­cent of a favorite child­hood toy, Pound Pup­pies. I doubt that’s Ginet­te’s own ref­er­ence, but it’s what I bring to the prover­bial table when I look at her work.
