BSDA on Brown Paper Bag: Monica Ramos

swimmers_angled_1.1

For the last guest post, I have Kate Singleton of Buy Some Damn Art (BSDA) and Art Hound here to share a bit about Monica Ramos, an artist whose show recently opened on Buy Some Damn Art. Every week, the BSDA launches a new show of original art by an up-and-coming artist. Each online show runs for six weeks. Be sure to check out the website and sign up for the mailing list. It’s the best way to stay current about all the great work that Kate features.

Take it away, Kate!

I just can’t get enough of Brooklyn illustrator Monica Ramos’ cheeky humor! From frying eggs on the sidewalk to licking up melted ice cream, Monica’s work is deliciously playful. My favorite piece in the series is “Warm Water” because that blue is such a pretty shade and because Monica is especially talented when it comes to creating patterns out of people and things. For the same reasons I think Monica’s “I hate selfies” is kind of brilliant.

[Sara’s note: Check out the interview between BSDA and Monica]
