I’m starting work on the new Collage Scrap Exchange website, and I am digging through all my scraps for it. Doing so made me think of the work of Elise Wehle, a collage artist. Using photographs, paint, cut outs, and thread, Elise creates intricate works that are multi-layered and often distorted, giving the feeling that they were lost or forgotten.
Much of Elise’s new works spring from 30 Art Project, in which she and friends challenged themselves to make a different piece of art every two days until they reached 30 works. A good idea to stay motivated!
