It has been so unseasonably warm in Baltimore that it hardly seems like fall. I think that’s why I’ve been gravitating so much to Halloween-related illustrations (as evidenced on my Instagram), because I’m looking for a reason for it to feel like the end of the year. In that case, Adam Pritchett‘s insect embroidery is perfect for it. Using a variety of knot stitches (including one of my favorites, the bullion) he forms creepy crawlers like different types of spiders. Those thick, textural stitches are tempered by thinner, often shorter stitches with everything sewn on woven wool fabric.
