Natalya Balnova is someone else that I found via SPX last weekend. Another illustration grad from SVA in New York, a lot of her current portfolio revolves around hand lettering, portraits, and publication design. Natalya created 4 catalogs based on themes of consumerism and advertisement. She writes, “…catalogues contrast everyday life with the idealistic representations of life found in advertisements. The project is based on real ads.”
If you visit her website, you can see the publications in their entirety. I would highly recommend it. Her drawing style, coupled with hand lettering, is a very beautiful yet melancholic look at just a fraction of the ads we are inundated with each day and throughout our lives.
