Sara Plantefève-Castryck’s Textile Design

Sara Plantefève-Castryck’s textiles look like paintings. That’s because painting is part of her process. If you check out her Tumblr, you’ll see that she translates her colorful works on paper to fabric and knits. The result is a variation of textures and tones, giving them the appearance of being individually crafted. Seeing an artist/designer’s hand makes us feel more connected to works like these, despite them being mass produced.
